Inspiration

If I'm being perfectly honest, I had a wonderful incentive to create a blog at this time. My absolute favorite blogger at Sugar Pie Farmhouse www.sugarpiefarmhouse.com - Aunt Ruthie- just wrote a summertime e-book that I'm completely thrilled about:
Aunt Ruthie says, "Are you ready for a sun-drenched, farm fresh, sweet-as-corn-on-the-cob adventure to the good ol’ summertime? Well, this E-Book will take you there! This is more than a E-Book with words, each page is decorated in full color with vintage images, photos, charming quotes and of course 51 farm fresh ideas including family fun tips, recipes, decorating ideas, encouragement for homemakers and so much more! Darlins’, ”Watermelon and Fireflies” is just drippin’ with sweet southern nostalgia like honey from a honeycomb!"

Her southern style charm has a way of continually refreshing and motivating my soul to do great things to bless my family. Oh, I simply can't wait to get a copy for myself! She's giving a 25% off discount until June 30 and a portion
of the proceeds will go to "Samaritan's Purse" and “Feed The Children.”

What does all this have to do with me starting a blog? Well, first I'm happy to support and bless such an amazing, Godly woman. Second, she's giving away a few great prizes to bloggers mentioning her e-book. What more incentive does a girl need?

Love, Laugh, LIVE

I can officially check off "Create a Blog" from my imaginary list of things to do before I die. I've finally taken the plunge into the blogging world, and though the water is a bit cold, I trust I'll warm up soon enough. Now I have to conquer the next challenge; finding time to post. With three small children constantly underfoot, finding quiet time for clear and creative thinking is a challenge. As it is-I have locked myself in my bedroom just to write this. Don't worry....their father is making sure they don't play with matches or run with scissors....I hope.

A little about me....my name is Amanda and I've lived a very blessed 32 years. How I got to where I am now is a long, adventurous story I'll save for future posts. The condensed version: I grew up in a small country town in upstate NY and I currently live in a small country town in the mid-west. For nine years, I attempted to live a cultured, classy life but I've officially resigned myself to the fact that I will always be a country girl at heart. The Lord is all-knowing and He has a perfect will for all of us. For that reason He has brought me back to my quaint and quiet roots and it is here that my heart is at peace. It's as if I've been on a long journey and I'm finally home. Now, I look forward to raising my own children in a small-town environment; an environment I enjoyed, but took for granted, as a child. Hopefully the love of country and a desire for camaraderie will forever remain in their hearts as it has mine.

In this blog, I plan to write about ordinary, nothing special, day-to-day sorts of things; the many things I hold most dear because they are, in simplest form, what defines me. There are so many things I enjoy such as writing, DecORatiNg, photography, homeschooling, coOKinG, entertaining, reading, MUsiC and spending time with family and friends----just to name a few. I also delight in spending time with the Lord and MArvElinG at His amazing creation. I can't wait to document my passions as well as my journey through life as a servant of the Lord, a wife, a mother, a homemaker, and a friend. Maybe I'll even catch the attention of a few kindred spirits? I can only hope to be an inspiration and blessing to others as some of my favorite blogs have blessed and inspired me.
